What does Sausage fest mean?

A sausage fest is a party or gathering on which there is a strong imbalance between the genders, weighing towards the males.

If it is significantly more men at a party than women, or if there is no women at all, the group of people qualifies to be called a “sausage fest”.

Sometimes the “sausage fest” is intentional, such as a party with the homies, or it can be unintended  (and unfortunate), because you entered the club hoping to pick up some chicks, but the woman-to-man ratio is really not in your favor.

What's the origin of Sausage fest?

The male member, because of its elongated shape and meaty consistency, is often referred to as a “sausage”, hence a larger group of men with “sausages” is a “sausage fest”.

People begun to use “sausage fest” in reference to male-only parties in the early 20th century.
