The newest meaning of “gimp” however, comes from the 1994 Tarantino film, Pulp Fiction, in which the “gimp” was a sex slave, dressed in a black latex suit from head to toe.

The expression broke through to the mainstream in 1994, when the third movie of Quentin Tarantino was aired, with the title Pulp Fiction.
In one of the scenes of the motion picture, two of the characters are taken hostage by a shop owner, who keeps a sex slave, dressed in all leather suit.
The BDSM submissive is referred to in the movie as the “Gimp”.
