The copypasta was taken from a 1997 U.S. Air Force training document as well as its audio recording.
An early source of the copypasta links to a page on the website of University of Wyoming, with the title Missile Guidance for Dummies.
Spread and Usage
The first humorous use of the copypasta appears in the video of Inimicu, uploaded to YouTube on January 9th, 2007.
The audio recording of the copypasta first appeared on YouTube in 2012.
Since then, the recording as well as the text would appear on sites, like Reddit, 4chan, YouTube and later, in 2019, the meme would also emerge on Twitch.
