What a Beautiful Duwang
Meaning
What a beautiful Duwang refers to a memorable quote from a badly translated JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable manga.
The line, which gets Otakus asking “Is That a JoJo Reference?” gained a lot of popularity online, as for a long while it was the only available English translation.
The term Duwang is said to be a mistranslation of a fictional town in the series, called Morioh.

Origin
While the exact origin of the translation is not known, the most accepted theory behind the conception of “What a beautiful Duwang” comes from a Chinese JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fan, who attempted to translate the manga for a school project.
Spread and Usage
The fact that the badly executed translation was the only available English rendition of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable has led the “What a beautiful Duwang” meme to become an inside joke among fans of the series.
In 2013 and 2014, a group calling themselves the Invincible Trio published their own refined translation of the manga, however they kept a lot of memorable Duwang lines.
Starting in 2015, YouTube parody videos, featuring the line “What a beautiful Duwang” would also appear.
