A screenshot of the moment was shared on the /a/ board of 4chan the same day, with a photoshop edit following suit not long after.
Spread and Usage
“Koichi pose” memes grew rampant on 4chan in the following months, mixing it with other iconic memes, such as Dio Walking.
In later years, it also spread to various other sites, such as Imgur, or Reddit’s r/ShitPostCrusaders sub.
“Koichi pose” also became a frequent occurrence on YouTube, as users uploaded parodies featuring the stance.
