What does the emote Pog mean?

Not to be mistaken for the fad of collecting plastic coins called Pog’s from the 90’s.

Pog is a variant of the original Twitch.tv emote called PogChamp. This version features a zoom-in to Ryan “Gootecks” Gutierrez’s face, showing only the mouth.

The emote on Twitch.tv is used to express excitement, shock or even surprise, usually spammed alongside with its original version to create more hype.

Origin of the emote

The original image was taken from one of the streams featuring Ryan, called CounterCrossTV, by the message board 4chan’s sub board /v/ – Video Games which was later cropped, thus creating the unique emote Pog.

Pog was added to the FrankerFaceZ in 2017. which is a browser addon, that extends your viewing experience on Twitch.tv, by adding new unique emotes, chat features, etc.
