Origin of the emote

Based on Pepe the Frog that portrays a teenage character which was created in 2005, by artist Matt Furie for his comic series called “Boy’s Club”, the emote is unique in a way that it is not the usual drawing, but an 8bit rendition.

The emote was added to in 2018 as part of the BTTV (Better Twitch TV) collection, which is a browser extension, that enhances your viewing experience on the site, by granting access to new unique emotes, chat features, etc.
