What's the origin of Marge Krumping?

“Marge krumping” originates from the Season 19, Episode 6 of The Simpsons, which aired on November 11th, 2007, under the title “Little Orphan Millie”.

At some point in the episode, Bart is displayed as having sad thoughts to which Marge attempts to krump in order to cheer him up.

An isolated clip of the scene was uploaded to YouTube by Reece W on September 6th, 2009.

“Marge krumping” didn’t turn up as an exploitable image macro until January 2016, when photoshop edits of the scene would be posted on The Simpsons Facebook groups.

The Facebook page, Marge-Core was launched on January 30th, 2016, with numerous memes revolving around the concept of “Marge krumping” being posted.

GIFs and image macros of “Marge krumping” would be uploaded to Reddit and Tumblr, with many posts exploiting the dance moves as fight moves on these memes, mashing up Marge Simpson against characters like Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z or Sasuke from Naruto.
