On September 24th, 2017, the r/notliketheothergirls subreddit was launched, where posts related to the phrase – both ironic and serious – can be found en masse.

“I’m not like other girls” was first defined on Urban Dictionary on April 19th, 2019, with numerous other entries to follow.
The meme format appeared on sites like Instagram, Facebook and 9GAG in the late 2010’s, while it also formed into a TikTok trend, where girls ironically listed their habits and passions that set them apart from all the other girls.
