Doctors Hate Him
Doctors hate him (also known as one quick trick) is the name of the series of jokes that were inspired by online clickbait advertisements and pop-ups which were a common sight on the internet in the late 2000s.
These ads serve as the foundation of many memes that usually feature pop-culture references, such as movie characters or music artists.

The meme’s origin dates back to the late 2000s and early 2010s, when several, similarly edited pop-up ads and clickbaits started to appear on various sites on the internet.
Also known as ‘chumboxes’, these ads often featured lewd photos, unidentifiable objects and misleading titles in order to attract clicks to make money on websites.
Eventually doctors hate him and one quick trick grew to be the most well-recognized terms from these ads, and soon meme creators started to use them as phrasal templates.
Spread and Usage
The phenomenon of these ads have inspired the creation of various memes on different platforms throughout the years.
One early instance would be a Cheezburger blog post which combined the doctors hate him format with a demotivational template in 2011.
The format became very popular in the following years, appearing in various sites like Twitter, DeviantArt and 9GAG, as well as various boards of Reddit.
