While the exact origin of the phrase is not known, “cursed pizza” images started emerging online in the early 2010’s, with an increase in popularity in 2014, appearing mostly on sites like Imgur.
The meme received a significant boost in its popularity on June 24th, 2016, when the Season 3 Episode 26 of Sanjay and Craig was first aired under the title Stuffed Cursed Pizza.
