The painting was featured in the Season 2, Episode 38 of SpongeBob SquarePants, aired on September 21st, 2001, under the title Artist Unknown.

In one of the scenes Squidward is presenting his artwork to a critic in order to be featured in a collection.

When he’s showing his picture “Bold and Brash” the critic replies with “More like, belongs in the trash”.
