The Rise of the Planet of the Apes was premiered in the United States on August 5th, 2011.
In one of the scenes of the movie, the protagonist among apes, Caesar (played by Andy Serkis) is using sign language to tell Maurice (played by Karin Konoval) that “Apes alone wear. Apes together strong.”
A clip of the scene was uploaded to YouTube on July 18th, 2014.
Spread and Usage
Following June 2019, screenshots of the scene started appearing as an image macro on Reddit threads, revolving around memes.
“Apes together strong” had spread on to several other sites online, including Facebook and Instagram, as well as Twitter.
